003 – A cold week-end in Prague

A short city break was a good opportunity to discover one of central europe capital.
Prague is a city that combines old memories and a sense of modernity that is perfectly depicted in the myriad of shops, restaurants and cafés around the city.
a bad weather prevented us from truly enjoying the parks and the shores along the Vltava, the river that runs throuh the city. It could have been more pleasant, but mother nature has right of way…
The buildings in the historic city center looked fantastic. Just think that what they call “the New Town” was founded in 1348. Incredible heritage.
Art and culture are present at every corner, both old and new. Very interesting blend of classic music performance, the museum of communism, outside modern art sculptures downtown, art galleries and cafes cattering the crowd, and of course, the kafka museum.
A stroll along the river and then we were wandering downtown, tasting the delicious treblniks – grilled cinamon rolls – so good!!!
Plenty of historic buildings, and of course the world famous Charles Bridge.
Visiting the jewish cimetery and the synagogs aroud proved to be a moving experience.
Every name written on the walls represent a person killed in the ghetto during world war 2. The entirety of the walls in this big building are covered with names. How could this even be possible?
Of course, a city is not a city trip without some night and dawn photography.
It was really cold, and standing at 5:30 AM on the charles bridge, I was surprised to be far from alone. Sunrises become popular these days ;.)
As usual more photos of Prague here
Thank you for reading through.
